My personal style…

Looking at my personal style, one might say that it goes with the wind. I am a Rachelle and by nature, that means that I am willing to try “just about” anything once. Trying to decide on one designer that just understands my style is difficult because there are so many different looks I could try on any given day. Among my favorite designers are Dolce and Gabbana because they have a look that is usually quite feminine with a powerful structured aspect, Versace because they are always willing to push the envelope for what is sexy and what is fashion forward, and Chanel because of the clean classic looks that are often created with a hint of sexiness at times. Quite often, I like to experiment with style and fashion and push the envelope to see how far I can take certain elements of fashion and make them my own. My style comes from a combination of items I like and items that I know will look great on me. Every once in a while, I like to experiment with fad items and items that are out of the box for me, just to see how they will look and possibly discover a new favorite design. Here is a glimpse into my personal “closet” if you would…

On casual days, I really like to experiment with different colors and textures. My idea of causal is taking different elements that you would not normally put together and seeing just how they look together. This first look I have placed together is a Candela Crawley Red Lace Crop Top ($280; shoplesnouvelles.com) and these Balmain high waist skinny jean ($919; farfetch.com). Paring a crop top with a high waisted bottom gives me an element of having the cropped look but not being overly sexy and possibly only showing a small peek of skin. To accessorize this look, I have paired it with Neon Yellow Patent Leather Saint Laurent Classic Jane 110 Ankle Strap Sandals ($795; ysl.com) for an added pop of color and to give the look more of a stand out effect. With jewelry, I definitely like to have fun on casual days so I will often mix items that give an element of interest and sometimes sparkle. Partnering these Banana Republic Silver Seas Statement Earring in Clear crystal ($50; banana republic.gap.com), Adriana Orsini “Dream” Pave Sterling Silver Necklace ($125; saksfithavenue.com), Hugau Love ring ($75; youheshe.com), and Marc by Marc Jacobs Amy Watch ($200; revolve clothing.com) would definitely be something that I can do everyday. Staying on the go oftentimes causes me to carry around a cross over bag for ease of versatility and style. This Reed Krakoff Mini Colorblock Shoulder Bag ($650; marissacollections.com) is no exception. I love the multicolored design and the mix of citrus, white and tan with silver hardware to tie the whole outfit together. Rayban Dark Brown Aviator Flat Metal Sunglasses ($235; liberty.co.uk) complete the look for when I am out and about running errands.

Work to me should be fun and the next look is no exception to that rule. I love a clean classic work look, but spring brings out my love of colors and fabrics that have movement. I started with this Ted Baker Saamsa Electric Daydream Biker Jacket in an abstract print ($210; johnlewis.com) because it gives a punch of color, but is also structured enough to be appropriate for office wear. Pairing the jacket with a Nina Ricci Seam-Detail Cotton Top
($675; modaoperandi.com) and Scuba Skater Skirt with Pleast by Oh My Love
($54; topshop.com) gives the complete look structure and movement. The top can be worn with or without the jacket for when it gets a little too warm. Accessorizing this look, I started with Henri Bendel Debutante 10mm Pearl Stud Earrings ($48; henribendel.com) that are big enough to make a small statement. To complete the jewelry, I also added in the Camilla Dietz Bergeron, Ltd. Cartier 18K Rose Gold “Love” Bracelet ($6,000; modaoperandi.com) and a Michael Kors Womens Gold Round Gold Diamante Dial Watch ($350; psyche.co.uk). Both of these elements have simple styling but are bold enough to stand on their own with this look. Finishing off this look I have a MICHAEL Michael Kors Jet Set Travel Handbag ($520; zalando.co.uk) and ‘Las Vegas’ Blue Suede Peep-Toe High Heeled Pumps ($204; celebboutique.com). The MICHAEL Jet Set Travel Handbag is perfect for the woman on the go. It has enough room to hold a small laptop and or tablet without compromising space for the rest of life’s necessities. And these bright blue peep-toe high heels are a great way to show off a fresh pedicure and showcase style.

Finally, on evenings out I like to choose looks that are perfect for date night or a spring cocktail party. Keeping within these guidelines shows sexy classiness as I like to call it. Beginning with this Alice + Olivia Wesson one-shoulder silk-chiffon dress ($198; theoutnet.com) in mint, the color alone is perfect for spring. The dress gives off an element of style, sophistication and class that is undeniable. With a dress like this, the jewelry selection has to be very careful to complement the dress without overpowering the look. I chose the Feather & Stone Amazonite Circle Earrings ($220; question-air.com), Ileana Makri 18kt Yellow Gold Triple Disc Ring With White Diamonds ($6,486; mytheresa.com), Hermès Caleche Bracelet Narrow ($450; usa.hermes.com), and Fossil Stella Watch ($155; buckle.com) because they were all beautiful elements, but they have an air of simplicity that ties the look together. As a statement piece, I added the Kardashian Kollection KK Layered Heart Collar Necklace ($59; thehut.com) to mimic the gilded leaf design in the shoes. These Kotur Gilda Sandals ($650; marissacollections.com) are an addition that are sure to make people look twice, in a good way. I love them because the gilded leaf design mimics the draping in the dress and gives it a romanesque sort of look. And finally, I added the Classic Monogram Saint Laurent Clutch In Gold Metallic Leather ($1,090; ysl.com) for an air of sophistication and style. The color of the clutch itself is beautiful enough that it does not need any extra sparkle and the monogram adds just the right touch of shine.

All of these elements and ensembles are items that I would love to pick out for myself on any given day. I also believe that many of the elements could work well for the modern woman of today. It just takes the right amount of confidence and class to pull off your greatest you.
