Labor Day White
Happy Labor Day my fashion loves! In the fashion world, this weekend used to symbolize the abolishment of all things white until that glorious first day of spring. Fortunately, that rule is no longer valid. Using the inspiration of Earth, Wind and Wonder, here is a completely appropriate way to transfer your summer whites into fall and beyond.
Starting with a lacy white, Dolce Vita vintage “style” dress as our base we have the perfect summer dress to take into fall. I just love how the lace detail is pretty but not too overdone. It is definitely not your little sister’s lace dress. The length is also perfect for those fall days that are still a bit warmer than usual, especially if you live in the south. Paired with this oversized TopShop denim shirt (one of my favorite “go to” items!) it gives you look of fall without taking you completely from summer. I love how the casual almost rugged look of the shirt complements and changes up the look of the white lace dress. Roll up the sleeves to elbow length and you will definitely give off casual chic. This shirt, I would wear with everything, from leggings to colored denim… Can we say ideas?
Peep toe booties are definitely on trend for fall and I could not resist these Gianvito Rossi ankle booties in Rust suede. Such a beautiful earthy color to transition into fall with and they can certainly be paired with multiple different clothing options. Hmmm… Patterned tights maybe? Just an idea. Keeping with the earthy trend, we also added these beaded wooden bracelets by Delia’s. They definitely look like they cold have been picked up on a trip to the Ivory Coast and handmade, at least, that’s what you could tell people. Since this is a summer to fall transition, it would not be complete without a nice pop of color. Tory Burch keeps it popping with this fleming medium over the shoulder bag in Bright Fuchsia. I am a Tiffany Blue kind of girl myself, but I am absolutely obsessed with the color of this bag. It is just so bright and fun that I cannot resist adding it to this look.
Honestly, my favorite thing about this look is that all of the items can be interchanged and paired with other items to create great fall looks. My personal favorite items is of course the Gianvito Rossi booties. I need those in my life. I hope you enjoy this look as much as I enjoyed creating it for you!
